If you answered yes to one or more of these questions congratulations, you passed the quiz! Now that we have marked an A for your quiz results, get out your pen and mark the date March 22 on your calendars for our Camp Weaver Ice Skating event!
 

Free rental and skating will be provided at the Greensboro Ice House for past and present Camp Weaver participants (and their parents), all you have to do is bring a friend who has not yet been to Camp Weaver with you! Skating will begin at 4:30pm and go until 6:30pm or until our legs start to cramp. The address of the facility is 6119 Landmark Center Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407.

There is no limit on how many skaters can come, we have the whole place to ourselves, but there is a limited amount of skates in each available size so we may need to take turns if certain sizes run out.

5 Reasons for you to get excited about Camp Weaver's Annual Giving Campaign “Send a Kid to Camp” Kickoff Event!

It’s that time of year again…new calendars are being hung on the wall, resolutions are being made (ours is to be better at regular blogging, sorry for our absence!) and it’s time for Camp Weaver’s Annual Giving Campaign "Send a Kid to Camp" Kickoff event! There is a lot to be excited about for the New Year ahead, and especially for our upcoming Kickoff event.

5 reasons why our Kickoff Event is something for you to get excited about:

1. The Chance to Give – In 2013 we were able to provide 300 children with scholarship to attend overnight and day camp sessions. This year we hope to be able to provide life changing experiences to even more deserving children. You can help!

2. Guest Speakers - Come hear the heartfelt testimonials of those directly influenced by your contributions!

3. Great Food - That New Year’s resolution to stay on your diet can always re-start next month…come out and have some delicious Quaintance -Weaver restaurant quality food all while supporting a great cause.

4. Awesome Auction Items – Our Silent Auction is made up of a variety of wonderful donations from great local businesses, including but certainly not limited to: Proximity Hotel, Carolina Hurricanes, Avanti Salon and Spa, Wine and Design, Great Outdoor Provision Co., PRECOR, Idiot Box Comedy Club, Loco for Coco and Cookie Lee Jewelry. This is the perfect opportunity to bid on some great items for yourself or go home with some great gifts! All proceeds from the auction will go towards our scholarship program directly funding camp opportunities for underserved youth.

5. One More Reason to Talk about Camp - This event is a unique opportunity to gather together with other community members that are passionate about supporting local youth. Come spend some time learning more about Camp's positive influence and all of the different opportunities there are for you to support our cause. We hope to see you there!

If you are unable to attend the event but would still like to support our effort to make camp available to more deserving children you are welcome to make a direct contribution to our scholarship campaign by mailing a check to YMCA Camp Weaver, 4924 Tapawingo Trail, Greensboro NC 27406 or over the phone at 336.697.0525 OR ONLINE (see directions below).

Step by Step Online Donation Directions- 

• Click SUPPORT US on the homepage or copy this link in to your web browser - campweaver.org/donate
• Select “Make an online donation now” at the top of that page 
• You will be asked to create a username and password - make this something that is easy to remember (or write it down) so you can log back in to your account at a later date or next year if you’d like to give again. If you ever forget your log-in information place call our office to get it instead of creating a new account
• You will then enter your personal contact information 
• After you have entered your contact information, on the next page - click Make A Donation on the toolbar at the top of the screen

We promise it only takes about 5 minutes of your time! 

There are a few different ways to give-

If you’d like to purchase a seat at our Annual Giving Campaign “Send a Kid to Camp” Kickoff Event Luncheon:

If you are unable to attend the event but would still like to make a donation to our 2014 Send a Kid to Camp Scholarship fund to help send deserving underprivileged campers to summer camp: 

Choose “2014 Annual Giving Campaign” in the Campaign drop down menu

and 

“2014 Send A Kid To Camp” in the Purpose drop down menu

If you’d like to make a donation towards the Lt. J Wesley Van Dorn Memorial Scholarship Fund

Choose “J Wesley Van Dorn Memorial Scholarship” in the Campaign drop down menu

“J Wesley Van Dorn Memorial Scholarship” in the Purpose drop down menu

No matter which giving option you choose, all funding goes directly towards providing deserving underprivileged children with life changing camp experiences that they would otherwise not have the opportunity to participate in.
